Catherine Jackson
Catherine Jackson has always had a love for making things look beautiful. It brings a smile to her face to make clients’ surroundings develop into a work of art.
Jackson followed her passion by enrolling in the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. After receiving a Bachelors in Fine Art, she continued her studies in art at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Life brought her to Illinois where she completed her Masters in Fine Art at Northern Illinois University. It was from this foundation that she began to build her career as a fine art painter and educator.
Jackson also teaches art in primary and secondary school to children in Kindergarten through grade 12, as well as at the college level. She has successfully implemented art programs in high risk schools, elevating the programs to award winning levels. In addition, she produced an art curriculum, which was rated top 5 in Illinois, for the Gifted Academy.
Jackson’s career in visual arts was further supported with the opportunity to become an interior designer. This is where her passion for painting melded with her love of creating beautiful surroundings. After 20 years working as an artist, her portfolio has expanded to include custom painted murals, decorative furniture and commissioned paintings.
Jackson also added a Master’s in Teaching to her education so she could share with others what she has learned. This has been, and still is, a rewarding addition to her career.
Now, Jackson lives and works in the beautiful hill country of Austin, Texas. Please take some time to look through her portfolio which contains techniques just as varied as her clients are unique. cjacksonart.com
