Art Through the Ages
(7 to 14 years)
This class is a practical application of Art History. Each class will focus on a period of art beginning with prehistoric cave paintings, then journeying through the Renaissance, to impressionism, realism, abstract expressionism, cubism, Pop Art in the 20th century to the most contemporary visions. Participants will gain knowledge of how the movement came to fruition and different materials and techniques used. Then, children will have the opportunity to put their knowledge to paper and canvas as they create their own period masterpiece!
