Kite Season is such a fun time of year!  Children discover how the wind can lift a kite and make it soar through the air, effortlessly.  This workshop will take place the weekend before Austin’s Zilker Kite Festival each Spring.  Kids and parents will have a chance to paint the fabric of a kite and then learn how to assemble a frame.  We will put the kite together and attach a bridle.  Kids will have their own unique kite to fly at the festival!

  • Paint, shape, construct and create kites, just before Austin's Kite Fest.
  • Family time.
  • Promotes self-confidence through positive feedback.

  • Encourages fine motor skill development and spatial reasoning.
