Paint the Nations Art Club

This 4 to 8 week art club will cover art from a different country each week.  Traditionally, we focus on Mexico, Peru, China, Egypt, Brazil, Tanzania, Italy and France.  This club can be customized for any age or period of time.  Each class period will begin in circle time with a song and a book about the culture we are creating from. Children will create unique and meaningful art projects that will be showcased and celebrated, while listening to music from the culture of the week.  Students will also be introduced to various art principles, including the color palate, a wide array of painting techniques and working with clay. A “work shopping” portion of the class will allow children to learn the basic skills of critiquing artwork. Dress for mess!
