Writer’s Workshop
(10 to 14 years)
Teacher: Lauren Boyle
Writer’s Workshop provides an opportunity for budding authors and poets to develop their craft. Each class will consist of a different aspect of writing. Children will first explore the non-fiction genre by composing an autobiographical piece. Next, the aspiring authors will try their hands at fiction. Additionally, children will have the opportunity to try their pen at poetry. Each meeting will consist of a workshop period, where the writers will learn the importance of editing. The fourth week will consist of the writers illustrating their written work and then organizing their pieces into a bound book.
