Exploring the Natural World Through Art: Junior
The natural world contains an immense amount of beauty and intricacies. During camp, children will learn to develop an attention to the details of the world around them. They will begin to develop an appreciation for the aesthetics of every day objects found in nature, by delving into the specifics of various plants, animals and insects. The kids will have the opportunity to work with a progression of media during the week as they transition through interesting and relevant projects dealing with their environment. Materials will include pencil, oil pastels, water color and acrylic paints and other diverse mixed media. During the week, new techniques will be introduced and mastered, resulting in several works of art and a skill set that the children can carry with them and utilize after camp. The week will culminate in an art show, where the kids will showcase their masterpieces for their friends and family.
