Mary Miller

Mary Miller is the author of a collection of short stories, Big World, and two chapbooks of flash fiction, Less Shiny and They Could No Longer Contain Themselves. Her work has appeared in dozens of journals, including American Short Fiction, McSweeney’s Quarterly, Mississippi Review, Oxford American, Indiana Review, Ninth Letter, and Quick Fiction. Her work has been anthologized in New Stories from the South 2008 and Dzanc’s Best of the Web 2010. In addition to writing fiction, she also writes poetry and one-act plays, and is particularly interested in flash fiction, stories told in fewer than 500 words. Mary earned a master’s degree in English and creative writing at The Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi and is currently a James A. Michener Fellow in Fiction at the University of Texas, where she serves as Co-Fiction Editor of Bat City Review.
